Volunteer Coordinator - Track and manage all volunteer positions. Ensure all positions are filled and recruit people as needed.
Chapel/Devotions – Lead devotions connected to Character Sketches lessons. Lead the pledges and songs of the day.
Missed You/Prayed for You Today - Obtain daily list of students and volunteers who were absent from FSA. Follow up on why they missed.
Teachers – Volunteers to teach each subject or skill level. FSA needs specific Science, Math, 1776, History, Writing/Grammar and Latin teachers. Be prepared with lesson plans for each day’s instruction and activities.
Teacher Assistants – Help in the classroom with hands on activities, instruction, behavior monitoring, tutoring, etc. This is more of a co-teaching arrangement.
Substitute Teachers – Willing to fill in for any volunteer position as people become unavailable for the day. This is a last minute, morning call position. Must be flexible and willing to say yes whenever you are called.
Substitute Coordinator - Maintain a list of volunteers who are willing to step in when any teacher, assistant or other volunteer will not be able to attend FSA. Be willing to receive last minute morning phone calls and immediately find a substitute to replace the volunteer’s position for that day. Establish and maintain list of several substitutes, recruiting as necessary.
Memory Work Guide – Lead the introduction of memory work for each subject, practice memory work with students as needed and review Bible verses for students in PK-6th grade.
Before & After Care – Be an active monitor of activities or games, redirecting students as needed, monitor behavior during the times before school opens or after the school day has finished.
Breakfast/Lunch – Monitor students while they eat breakfast or lunch, prompt students to clean-up after themselves, instruct student clean-up team to begin final clean-up, ensuring that a thorough job has been done.
Hall & Bathroom Monitor – Be sure students are in class rather than wandering the halls, make sure bathrooms are kept tidy. Supervise students who are cleaning the bathrooms at the end of the day.
Scheduler – Create rotating student cleaning schedule for the breakfast/lunchroom and bathrooms. Create schedule for Volunteer Hall & Bathroom, Recess Monitors & Traffic Control. Determine how many people are needed for each position at any given time. Notify volunteers of their time slots. Post schedule for all to review and check assignments.
Traffic Control – Direct both morning and/or afternoon traffic. Be sure parents are using the one-way drop-off path. Encourage students to be quick but careful. Be aware of any potential dangers.
Recess Monitor – Monitor students on the playground in between classes.
Field Trip Coordinator – Work with teachers to determine topics being covered and what field trip options exist in our area. Determine cost of each field trip. Notify parents of upcoming opportunities, the cost and collect registrations for those who will be attending.
Carpool Coordinator – Coordinate families that would like to ride-share, provide ways for each family to contact one another so they can make their own travel arrangements. If there is a driver willing to shuttle students, make parents aware of this option. Ask parents to sign a waiver that protects FSA from unforeseen circumstances.
Carpool Driver – Willing to ride-share with other families.
Clerical– Assist with anything office related or involving communication with families and volunteers during the school day and/or after school hours. Gather attendance, share with Missed You Today (MYT) Coordinator. Collect waivers, permission slips, registrations. Gather schedules from each coordinator and ensure each volunteer is aware of their assignments, days, and times. Be sure students teams are aware of their cleaning day.
University Liaison (CSER & practicum) – set up opportunities with Liberty University for students to earn CSER hours as teachers, coaches, band or chorus leaders, and anything else LU will approve. May need to coordinate or assist with travel arrangements.
Supply Monitor – Maintain accurate inventory of supplies for teachers, students, and the Administration Office. Orchestrate the gathering of donations for replenishments, go shopping (with FSA money) as needed for replenishment.
Library Runner – Reserve, pick-up and return public library books in a timely fashion so teachers and students have the books in time for lessons and the books are returned without late fees accruing. Multiple copies of each book will be needed.
IT support – Computer or technical support for everyone onsite at FSA.
Nursery – Provide quality childcare for infants through 3-year-olds. These are children of the volunteers only. Must be willing to take children outside as appropriate.
Nurse/First Responder – Provide minor medical care as needed. Must have first-aid & CPR training.
Photographer – Photograph activities, events and graduations for our website, marketing, and to create a yearbook. Must be aware if parent did not grant permission for their child to be photographed.
Club & Sport Coordinator – Organize leaders and coaches for afterschool activities. Coordinate schedules so activities don’t overlap. Work with leaders and coaches to determine cost and schedules. Register students and provide them with details for each activity. Incorporate LU students whenever possible.
Clubs – Leaders and Coaches for after school activities. Work directly with the Club coordinator to communicate with families.
Sports – Coaches for after school sports. Organize scrimmages with other co-ops or small groups. May need to locate a facility, depending on the sport.
Art – Instruct and lead age-appropriate Picture Studies, technics, art projects, and crafts.
Music - Instruct and lead age-appropriate composer studies and music theory.
PE – Lead organized group physical games and movement for age-appropriate exercise.
College Prep Coordinator - Assist Junior and Seniors in preparing for college including college search, choosing majors, testing prep, writing essays, and applications. Help students schedule steps toward application and acceptance.
Graduation Team – Determine which students are graduating. Schedule date, ceremony, and reception for live graduation ceremony.
Progress Report Team – Assist teachers in preparing assessments to share progress with parents.
Awards & News – Gather FSA community information that is newsworthy, exciting to share within FSA. Can be school related activities or family events that families want to share. Can be shared with monthly email, add to bulletin board or announcement system. Create awards to hand out to students during chapel or assemblies. Be creative!
Bulletin Board – Create and decorate areas within the church to share student work and awards. Change seasonally or according to topics being studied.
Marketing – Make FSA well-known in the community and surrounding counties. Work with community sponsors, church mission programs, donors. Promote FSA on social media and through other methods.
Donation/Fundraising Team – Work with the marketing team to gain new sponsors, donors, and missions. Develop several community fundraising activities that students can participate in.
Social Media Manager - Manage our FB page, create and manage Instagram page, develop any additional methods to share news of FSA on social media.
